The New Revolution: Gluto.com

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

As we put the final touches to the revamped and redesigned Gluto.com, our heads continue to shake in disbelief about the lackluster, mundane and untrustworthy lottery service websites that exist today.

Time for change

For research purposes, we signed up to a number of the more well known lottery services, which offer EuroMillions syndicates, in order to benchmark our own service and see what customers were experiencing. My own personal experience can only be described as that of cattle and herd – in other words, I was treated as a number and bombarded with generic information, none of which was relevant to me. It wasn’t fun or interactive at all, and thus it comes as no surprise that I didn’t win even 1 euro.

These websites seem to have been developed in order to make a quick ‘buck’ and leave the customer hanging. Email responses to queries never came, while updates of how my syndicates were performing were confusing. Lets be honest, the service that they intend to offer, similar to Gluto.com, is appealing and in demand from today’s lottery players – however, they aren’t practicing what they preach. Unfortunately, whereas Gluto.com intends to revitalize the sector, the sad truth is that they (the cowboys) are the mass, thus customers continue to be disappointed and the reputation of online lottery services has been tarnished.

This blog entry isn’t meant to become a bashing exercise against these ‘cowboy’ run websites. Rather, it is a chance for Gluto.com to express where we feel changes are necessary, and what we have focused on to ensure that fun, quality and superior customer service is restored to the lottery service market.

1.  Customer Service

Yep, that ambiguous term that is flashed around more than customers care to hear. Yet, this is incredibly important. Gluto.com is built around being able to deliver a personalized lottery experience, where we respond to enquiries within 24 hours, provide concise and relevant information, all of which is made available on an easy to use and interactive website. Ironic as it may be, but we have to thank all those poor quality competitors with disgraceful customer service, as they have demonstrated to us how a lottery service shouldn’t be!

2.  Quality

From the design of the website to the corporate identity, the software and security implemented, to the team that has been built to ensure a superior service offering, quality is found at every level at Gluto.com. International designers were brought in at an early stage to help create the site, in order to reflect the Gluto.com brand values.  Leading technology specialist Magic Mo has developed a system ensuring usability and interactivity. The list goes on. In other words, not only is the evidence visual when comparing Gluto.com to the others, but the quality of the service runs far deeper. The second rate, redundant and broken down alternatives should take a leaf from our book.

3.  Fun

Fun and excitement is the best way to describe the EuroMillions lottery. Jackpots reaching well over 15 million Euro provides us all with potential to win life changing prizes every week. Gluto.com mirrors the EuroMillions in that the site brings back the fun and excitement to online lottery services.  With the likes of the Lotto Insights helping you get nearer to that huge jackpot, while by having your friends join gives you the chance to win even more cash prizes, Gluto.com will not only guarantee customer satisfaction, but will keep you on the edge of your seat each week. That’s what an online lottery service should do.

A breath of freash air is what Gluto.com offers today’s lottery players and how the cowboys from the past will be put to rest.

Cracking the lottery code

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Millions of heads dropped in disappointment last week after not winning the dumbfounding EuroMillions lottery jackpot of €125 million. With unemployment soaring and households looking for extra income, many have turned to the likes of weekly lotteries in an attempt to turn around their misfortune. But how many of these people really thought about the numbers they selected? How do you choose the correct lottery combination? Had these people strategically selected numbers, based on statistical analysis, how many would have turned around their misfortune?

A calculated guess?

Part of the fun and excitement of the lottery is being the underdog. As many already know before even buying the EuroMillions ticket, the odds are heavily stacked against you (1 in over 76 million). However, if lotteries are games of numbers and combinations, then surely statistics can give us all a better chance of guessing correctly the upcoming number combination. Furthermore, the theory of probability states that all numbers in a lottery will be drawn on an equal number of times over an infinite period of time. Albeit a long time to wait, it does give us more insight into how to crack the code.

Tools at your disposal

In order to find this information aggregated and in a user-friendly format, players choose Gluto.com, as it is designed to do precisely this. Gluto.com has developed a number of tools called ‘Lotto Insights’ that provide lottery players with the ability to look at what numbers are hot and cold, which numbers are most frequently drawn together, while also determining the level of luck for each upcoming draw. Graphs and benchmarks enable the user to see for themselves which numbers are more ‘lucky’. This is possible, as Gluto.com has analysed all the numbers and combinations drawn since the EuroMillions began, back in 2004.

The Lotto Insights are part of the overall service, which is designed to help its members win more often, as opposed to waiting for infinity to come around.  So much so that members play as part of a syndicate, which in itself increases their chance of winning. Therefore, in Gluto.com’s eyes, a collective effort is the key to cracking the code, which lotto authorities tend to agree with, claiming that syndicates win 1 in 4 lottery jackpots.

The way forward

It has to be said that while these tools present great opportunity to improve players chances of cracking the code, the excitement and adrenaline that come with pure luck, or winning being ‘written in the stars’, is enough to keep many going back for more, week after week. However, should the current state of the economy continue to wreak havoc on people’s livelihood, out will go the romantic idea of looking to the stars, and more time may be spent using tools like these.

Believe the hype

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Since last week’s outstanding jackpot prize, the global press has gone ‘EuroMillions crazy’ with stories covering the huge sum of money that was won by a ticket holder in Spain.

Albeit the main attraction, the cash prizes available will now draw greater interest in this prestigious lottery from further a field. Already an estimated 200 million people world wide play the EuroMillions lottery, however this figure is surely set to increase over the coming months, meaning greater prize pools for its regular players and even more interest from the press.

However, while speculation grows on what the winner will do with the huge jackpot, the press does fail to bring to light a far more important issue – money raised for good causes. Since the very first EuroMillions draw on February 13th 2004, the total amount raised for good causes is more than 4 billion euro (status April 3rd 2009). This amount increases approximately 20 million euro every single week, benefiting society as a whole.

You make a clear difference

28% of the revenue from each draw is earmarked for good causes – in other words, every single time you play the EuroMillions a good part of your money is sent directly to health, education, environment, community and charity projects. So while stories of expensive homes and flash cars circulate the press, spare a thought for those less fortunate who are also set to benefit from this much needed EuroMillions lottery funding.

Thus, as Gluto.com members, while your chances of winning the jackpot increase and you receive regular cash prizes, be content at knowing that your lottery money is also helping those in need.

So, happy winnings for all.

Viva the EuroMillions!

It just gets better!

Again, no winner this week brings us another roll over! This means next week’s draw will have an estimated jackpot of 125 million.

However, according to the National Lottery, the chances of winning, remain slim, with a spokesman describing the chance of a ticket holder winning next week’s jackpot as 76 million to one.

Not with Gluto.com! Our members increase their chances of winning by 3,600%!

Happy Winnings

Would it be a private jet or the yacht in Monaco?

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009

This week’s EuroMilliions jackpot is an estimated 89 million.

“According to The Times Rich List 2009, one British winner would immediately become the joint 644th richest person in the country. They would be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, George Michael and Jackie Collins, all worth £90 million.

Bankers Coutts & Co estimate a single winner would earn about £1,524 per day in interest, £10,668 a week and £556,250 per year based on an interest rate of 0.625%” (Yahoo News).

Not a bad thought to wake up Monday morning and see that amount sitting in your bank account! Even as the National Lottery in the UK is saying, this is a life changing opportunity.

After paying off all those annoying debts, what would all that money get you?

A Private jet? Cessna’s entry-level private jet, the CJ1, costs about $4.2 million.

A yacht? A fair sized Sunseeker nowadays will set you back another $2 or $3 million.

Perhaps a football club? Southampton Football Club is now up for sale, not being able to keep up on its loans. A good investment? Maybe….

So why choose one or the other, why not take all 3?

Alternatively, all that cash would get you a lifetime membership to Gluto.com, which lets be honest, is just as appealing!

Happy Winnings!
